In order to be considered for a J1 intern visa, candidates must:

1. You must be at least 18 years of age.
2. You must have sufficient skills to function in an English-speaking environment, both during the normal work period and non-working hours.
3. Must be able to show sufficient funds to support you self during the program dates.
4. You must be medically qualified to perform the specific duties to be assigned.
5. Maintain health and accident insurance as required by the Department of State throughout the entire duration of the program.
6. You must be currently enrolled in a post secondary degree or certificate granting institution or have graduated less than 12 months ago from the program start date. Subject of study must be directly related to hotel/restaurant management, culinary arts, tourism or leisure management.
7. If you don’t possess the mentioned education but with relevant working experience, the good news is you can also apply for it!

If you have secured a placement with a company in the United States but need a visa sponsor may also apply through Aceglobal. The Host Business will be contacted to verify the placement and to complete the required documentation. Aceglobal will then provide ongoing support to you during your stay in the US.
